Hi there sorry if this is confusing , its my 1st thread and im confused

I am half way through updating my pc, I have replaced my Q9550 @3.6Ghz with a i7 2600k (will i notice any difference as i was going x58 but was advised not to)
16GB Corsair Vengance DDR3 1600 (4x4GB)
1792MB GTX 295 (planning on replacing with GTX590 when releaed)
I dont know what motherboard to get, i looked at asus maximus as i want a reliable board for the cpu overclock. been told this board isnt very good though. i need the board to have sli for another 590 in the future.
any suggestions? i'd rather pay a bit extra for a better board if its worth the extra money. when i have found the motherboard. what overclock should i go for, i dont want to burn it out in 12months time as i usually change my system every 2 yrs. my pc tower has great ventilation and the shop i go to reccomended an alpenfohn matterhorn heatsink so i got 1.

hope this is not too confusing, my heads in bits. not knowing if this new system will be much better than my last? I use it mainly for games and encoding a few movies. heres the old specs for you oppinion
Q9550 @3.6 thermalright ultra 120
8GB DDR2 800 corsair XMS
asus P5Q deluxe
gtx 295

My main concern is why is the 2600k so cheap? its cheaper than my old cpu at present?
any advice will be greatly appreiciated , thank you

your main concern about 2600k price?
i cant say its cheap at all...
and why you need 2 gtx590? unless you just want burn money ..
as for mobo - Asus p8p67 deluxe or Gigabyte P67A-UD7 if you have money

I just mean in comparrison with the x58 980x and 990x . On benchmarks the 2600k keeps up and even beats it, yet it's £500 cheaper. Thanks for recommend on the boards, il have a look at them now. In a yr or so the 590 will be a lot cheaper and would boost my gpu performance to match the best at that time. Well that was the plan
