Hello
Every so often I re install windows because of hardware / driver changes.
Not that uncommon.

So I backed up my data as usual
Put in my windows 7 disc as usual
Changed the bios to boot the dvd as usual
and then it displays the black and white bars to load up and is just getting stuck at the blue logo screen just after this before you enter your name and not going any further

I'm really confused and do not know what to do

I've tried changing the optical drive and it does the same thing
and I also downloaded another windows 7 home premium 64bit iso and burnt to a dvd just is case it was the dvd but it does the same thing.

If you have any ideas could you please help,
thankyou

How long have you left it at that blue screen? Win 7 sort of disappears there for quite some time - hours in some extreme cases. At about that time the DVD will stop spinning and will go quiet, eventually the DVD will spin up again and then you'll get into the name routine. As far as I've seen there are no indications whatsoever that something is actually happening, but it is.

Andi.

Is does go quiet,
But on every other occasion that I have done this it comes up immediately,
and the disc doesnt spin again until you get to the install screen
are you suggesting i just leave it like that and see what happens

i tried that and after a while the screen just went and I couldn't do anything

recently I
Updated my motherboard bios
and
Updated my intel x-25m firmware

do you think this could have caused the problem
