I RMA'd my new Gigabyte DS3R yesterday as it wasn't working. However, I think I have just realised why.

My Seasonic power supply has a 20+4 connector for the mobo, but I didn't realise that the mobo also needed a 4 pin power connector for the CPU. Having this not plugged in would explain why the fans spinned, but nothing else right?

:(Prepares big plank of wood to tw*t myself over the head with:(

You know. I did the exact same thing.

The fans spin, no beeps, no nothing?

Drop them a line and they should return it to you straight away without charging you for testing.

Unlucky, we all make mistakes.

When I built my friends PC recently, what looked like black smoke came out of the back. We quickly turned it off. The PSU seemed fine as did the rest of it, then my friend noticed I had put the CPU fan on the wrong way around, the fan was being filed away by the heatsink (hence the black plastic/smoke).

Called first thing this morning and the guy sounded quite suprised at my relief with it not being tested :D Can't wait to rebuild tomorrow!!!
