Hi,

I currently have an Antec 300 Gaming Case and have just received an ATI 5970 OC which before ordering Overclockers confirmed would fit in the case I have without needing to make nay modifications to the case.

Upon receiving the card this is not the case and the only way this card is going to fit is if I hacksaw a chunk from the HDD cage in the front.

As I have 2 other PC's that I was planning in moving into Antec 300 cases rather than hack saw a chunk from this one I am considering buying an alternative case that will indeed fit the ATI 5970 OC.

I'm looking for something with no window (or optional panel I can get to remove window) that is similar in style to the Antec 300 case.

Can anyone recommend a case that will fit my needs?

Hi,

Card is ~12 1/2 inches (~32cm).

I was considering going the whole hog and getting the Corsair 800D, should be ample room in that for the card and a swimming pool with mini bar.

Called overclockers to advise that the info they gave was incorrect, was told the HDD cage can be removed from the Antec 300..... not unless I drill the rivets holding it in place!

Have a look at the Coolermaster HAF, gets some good reviews with cable management in mind.

I do like Coolermaster tho.

Stay away from the Cosmos as it is tight to get behind the mobo with the cables.

nice case this is my MK1 690

Hi,

Thanks for the recommendations. I finally decided to get the Corsair 800D plenty of room for the 5970 OC.

I just need to find some decent and silent 120mm and 140mm case fans now.

Hi,

Thanks for the recommendations. I finally decided to get the Corsair 800D plenty of room for the 5970 OC.

I just need to find some decent and silent 120mm and 140mm case fans now.

I've replaced the stock corsair fans with 120/140mm Noiseblocker fans

overclockers don't sell the 140mm fans, but you can find them elsewhere.

Here's the 120mm fans that OcUK sell.

I've got 3 x 120mm fans as extraction in the top and 1 x 120mm for the lower HDD compartment, I have both my SSD's there. 1 x 140mm for extraction at the back, 1 x 140mm on the hot swap HDD compartment and one more 140mm at the bottom for intake.

These are very quiet and airflow/cooling is second to none.

Hope that helps.
