I've just bought a Opteron 170 and a Asus A8N32 SLi Dlx off the MM.

Can some kind soul please recommend a decent cpu cooler for the above as system will be on air, not water!. I have done a search for about an hour, and have had trouble coming up with something that'll be good for the above combo.

Rest of system - 2 x Gainward 7900 GTX's
Mushkin Extreme XP4000 Redline 2x1gb's
2 x Maxtor D/max 10 300 gb H/drives
Coolermaster All ali server case
Tagan 1100 watt psu.

The above system will be overclocked to it's max .....

Thanks in advance :)

Hi Jerry,

I'd recommend a Thermaltake Big Typhoon, damned good air coolers and I got my opty 170 upto 2.8ghz with it.

Also a scythe ninja is a good choice.

Agent.

Sythe Ninja is good, huge size best cooling available on air afaik.
Very big though so might get in the way if you move things about in your case a lot like I do.... :p Doesn't blow air down onto the motherboard

Zalman 9500, good design, works very well, blows no air onto the motherboard.

Thermalrite XP120, Doesn't cool quite as well as the 2 above (not far off) but blows air down onto the motherboard to keep chipset etc cool.

Reason I mention the air blowing down is I'm using a zalman 9500, and while my cpu is ice cool, chipset and pwn often reach 50 under load (at stock even)
