I love the look of the Audio-technica AT-LP12-USB especially in silver. It evokes memories of 70's Hi-FI's, I lusted over as a kid.

It ticks all the Price/atheistic/audio boxes, but I have a preference for a automatic tone arm.

The looks of the Audio-technica AT-LP60 just doesn't do it for me , sadly

Any suggestions please?

Sure you’re not thinking of Technics or Pioneer? That looks the same design but I can’t say I heard of audio technica back then.

Reviews seems to show the direct drive AT-LP5 and Sony PS-LX310BT as good contenders for a digital record player.

I’d probably looking at a Rega given they’ve been in the record player business for over 40 years.

Ah, I've worded my question poorly. I wasn't saying I remember seeing an actual Audio-technica AT-LP12-USB in my youth, (the usb part would have been strange given my age) I was suggesting that of all the modern turntables I've seen, this is the one that best invokes the atheistic of the time.

I kind of get why it's manual only, given it's origins as a DJ's deck.

Just wish it had an option for a automatic tonearm.
