please spec for a friend

a guy in work came to me on friday asking advice on building a pc for his son for christmas. i just completed my first built a couple of months ago and im sill not 100% confident in what to spec him so i had to ask you guys :)

he is playing BF3 and he want and wants to do some game modding. he was looking at amazon for complete builds but i advised him to build it himself .

they have a budget of around 500 - 650 quid.

i was thinging that he would get more bang for buck with the new trinity cpu?

could someone advise please :D
 
nah trinity wont help you play bf3 i doubt
bf3 is hungry
i feel its going to be another 7850 build :)

i told him if he was going to play bf3 he would need a good GPU like the 670 of 795.

for modding would an i7 pcu me better?
