Hey all,

Coudl you guys spec my a 2k gaming rig, this is gonna be used for games mainly , and it needs to be excellent for games, i would like it to be a amd system with nivida sli gfx ,

oh , Would 2 x 7800 gtx 256 ddr be better than 1 x 7800 gtx 512 ddr ?

oh and it needs to be with a 19 inch tft monitor, keyboard and mouse.

which would be the better option to pick,

thanks all,

saboy

Its slightly over budget, but It should be a killer once you overclock that processor. It will hit 2.5GHz no problem (mine is running at that at stock volts). It could probably hit 2.8 with good ram, which is where the Redline comes in.

The other option is an X2 4800+, a Sapphire Crossfire board and 1x X1900XTX. But I think the one I specced would run games better.

edit: Forgot to add fans to that, 1 80mm and 1 120mm Akasa Ambers would do.

Personally I would have put in a 24" dell and only 1 gfx card but, it was in his specs ;)
Sell sell selll!!!!

One way of looking at what he said is "I need at least a 19" TFT"

So a 24" is not only meeting his needs, its exceeding it by a long way!!

Gaming and Widesceen are *one*, I laugh at a 2K gaming rig without a 24" WS-TFT ;)

This is my recommendation.

Would be able to yield some good overclocking speeds from the Opty on the DFI and the Redlines imo. 2600MHz 24/7 stable would be sweet. Along with a X1900 XTX, it aint gunner be bad at all.

Theres also no 24 incher in my selection but the LG 19 incher would be great for me. Its a Sexy LCD :P

What you think?

Oh forgot to mention.

Is the £2000 budget, cash upfront meaning not any cash from selling the rig you have in your sig?

If you sell the rig in the sig, then upgrade the Opty 170 to a FX60 with the extra money. You would need around an extra £400.

With a FX60 and a X1900 XTX together, it will be a smokin' combo :D
