Please spec me a game

I like Age of Empires 3 (historical warfare).

and at the moment my main game is Starcraft 2 (sci-fi/future warfare).

But their a game which is "current" military; jets, helicopters, soldiers, tanks etc, maybe submarines and possibly even set on earth?

Any suggestions would be great,

anno 1404 or the settlers 7. both less focused on combat and more into building

World In Conflict (Sadly no base building, but still RTS)
Command & Conquer 3 (Excellent game but sadly not "Current")

Anno 1404 is a good game for building towns, cities etc but I wouldn't really class it as an RTS and has no battles really.
