They are not compatible. The Motherboard has a LGA 1366 socket and the CPU is the LGA 1156 socket. You need the i7 920 (LGA 1366) socket :) : http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-280-IN or you need to buy an 1156 socket motherboard. However this is soon to be extinct so you might aswell invest in the 1366 socket with your buget.

you want a hard drive in there somewhere - the solid states sure are fast, but you'll find 80gb will get used up pretty much straight away (vista/7 uses 15-20gb alone depending on the version)

i gotta seagate barracuda 7200.12 500gb. cheap (got mine from b grade at just under 30 quid, i think they're about 40 new), bloody quiet, and pretty nippy. if you want yet more space, the 7200.12 family goes upto 1000gb
