Please Spec me a TV - OLED/QLED 55 inch under £850 - Big Disappointment with New TV

I just bought a Hisense 55U7QF but the motion is awful - almost like I'm watching 10fps at times. It's somehow worse than my 2016 55M3300 Hisense even though it's a 2020 model with better specs.

Really upset and disappointed, going to post it up for sale this week.

Hisense has let me down with this one :(




When looking online it's a big confusing minefield out there with TV's


Can anyone recommend me a good 55 inch TV for under £850?

I'm not too bothered about anything too fancy, would love an OLED but I guess this is out of my price range and screen burn scares me.

I only watch youtube and Netflix and USB content, gaming sometimes but it won't be used for gaming. I leave that to the GSYNC monitor on my desk.

but would be nice to use it as a second monitor or for gaming when friends are round for a larger screen.

again though don't need a gaming TV though

The main thing is:

60hz smooth panel or 120hz if possible
Good blacks
Good colour
55 inch
Decent OS


don't need but would be nice:

Dolby Atmos
Bluetooth
The best OS
GSYNC



any help would be much much appreciated!

Hi buddy thanks for your reply,

I've not seen the sky glass, they look amazing but can't find much spec-wise on them, like I say I'm just after great motion and true blacks.

I was looking at the Phillips but was told they aren't as good as they make out to be (when compared to LG) and a lot of people have been having issues with them.


I keep steering towards the LG CX, any thoughts?

Yes, GSYNC is much smoother than freesync and anything else (as long as you have a GSYNC GPU powering it)

GSYNC is an actual chip inside the TV doing work while freesync is just built into the TVs software

I've seen a few of the 55inch versions hit that price on sale mate, also seen them second hand for around £600 - but that screen burn does scare me off a little as I do have TV on for long periods of time in the background while working

Have you checked to make sure your Hisense isn't faulty. What's the actual issue?

the issue is with the motion, there is too much sutter and screen tearing - common issue with them apparently


I really want the LG CX but for around 1k I'd expect at least 4 years of every day use with no screen burn, JL don't list them at the moment.

CostCo are normally pretty cheap, usually at least in line with other retailers offers etc. and they're only at £1,230 at the moment for that model.

John Lewis mate, with a discount code I've found online. +5 year warranty

Never been or bought anything from CostCo before but I'll check them out.
