Howdy.
I've actually never bought or owned a laptop, but for my audio recording needs I've decided to go the firewire interface / laptop route. Currently I use a standalone Yamaha multitrack unit.
So I guess I need a stable and quiet laptop (PC) with firewire capabilities. It won't be needed for really heavy multitrack mixing, as I mostly record acoustic artists and small ensembles. But obviously I want some grunt in case it's needed and will want it to last more than a couple of years. Even the output audio does not need to be spectacular, as I probably won't mix extensively on it either.
Budget - as low as possible for something decent.
Thanks
