Hi all
Currently running a Q6600 @ 3.31 with 2G of Ram.
Tried to add another 2 sticks but i have just had problem after problem and can't get them stable.
Currently back to running 2gigs of OCZ 8500
can anyone recommend a 4gigs of decent RAM for under £100? (preferably less)
Also, i noticed the RAM was getting very hot!! think i might need something with a decent heatsink

i don't suppose you'd know why i can't increase the voltage of my current RAM beyond 1.9V without it becoming unstable?
 
Hmm dont see why that couldnt be able to run at 2.1-2.3V as recommended.!

Have you tried setting the cpu to stock, manually setting the voltage, timmings, frequency in the bios for the ram and seeing if that works.?

if not try upping the northbridge voltage by 0.1-0.2v and see if you can boot with that.
 
yup, tried all that... though it could be just 2 of the sticks as on their own they won't take 2.2 volts... the other 2 seem to be ok. contacted OCZ twice regarding possible RMA but they won't return my emails.
tempted just to upgrade to some of the 2x2g sticks above
