Hi guys. Long time reader, first time poster etc...

The wife has agreed to letting me have a new computer :D which I plan to order in November (need to wait for a bit of coin to come in).

A colleague at work has drafted up a computer for me around the £700 mark (this is the maximum I really want to spend).

I don't need a monitor/OS/mouse or keyboard. I can source a DVD drive myself as well. I'm not particularly that fussed about over clocking. Will be used primarily for gaming. Most likely I will just end up playing CS haha but want a machine that will last a few good years.

Here is what my friend has suggested (sorry if it doesn't look very tidy):

KFA2 GeForce GTX 660 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £179.99

Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail £179.99

OCZ Vertex 4 128GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive (VTX4-25SAT3-128G) £85.99

Asus P8Z77-V LX Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £79.99

Antec High Current Gamer 620W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £79.99

Antec 300 Three Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case - Black £44.99

Corsair Vengeance Blue 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B) £39.95

Sub Total : £575.74
Shipping cost assumes delivery to UK Mainland with:
DPD Next Day Parcel
(This can be changed during checkout) Shipping : £12.50
VAT is being charged at 20.00% VAT : £117.65
Total : £705.89

So what do you think? I'm assuming the price might be slightly lower by the start of November.

I'm open to suggestions or any changes.

Cheers,
Sonna

That Shinobi case looks alright actually. Might opt for that.

I don't have a sata drive for storage atm. My plan was to add to storage when needed. Is it worth getting a separate SSD for OS and another for storage? Or does it not matter.

Thanks for the suggestions so far.

OK. I'm not planning to fill it with crap yet (music etc...) so I'll hold off with the HDD just for now. I can always pick one up in the future and spend a rainy day putting my CD's on it.

From the items picked so far, does it look as though it will be OK for a couple of years?
