Hi Im looking to build my own PC for the first time after many years of buying them prebuilt online. I want something that will be purely for gaming which can cope with 1900x1200 resolutions with lots of eye candy. :) Ive already purchased all the peripherals so Im just after a spec for the box, also the case aesthetics are quite important to me.

Ive got a budget of just over £3000.

thanks in advance. :)

In my opinion, there's no need to spend £3,000 because the above spec will do everything you want. :)

I was wondering if this spec would work with an Nvidia card and the Conore extream? I know theres no need to spend this extra cash but Ill only waste it on something else if I dont :p

It will certainly work with the Conroe Extreme Edition.

The nVidia cards do work on this board but you need hacked drivers so I wouldn't recommend it. It's designed for Crossfire.

As for the Asus P5W, you may need to contact Asus for a BIOS chip to enable Conroe support (or you can buy a £35 Celeron to do flash the BIOS yourself and then away you go!) Email this dude: [email protected] The BIOS chip is free.

If I had that kind of cash to spend on a PC then this is what I'd get
I know it's seriously over the top but you say you want to spend lots.

Not sure why you didn't go conroe there, the only reason to stay amd until they release their next gen is if your upgrading an existing system

Even the £154.95 E6400 embarrasses the £599.95 FX62 in some benchmarks, see here :)

My spec suggestion here :D
