After a lot of research into what upgrade path I should take, whether it be a 40 inch 4k tv or a proper gaming monitor, I have finally bought something. I went for the Acer Predator XB271HU and I am VERY pleased with it. I was concerned about whether mine would have backlight bleeding or dead pixels but it is virtually perfect in every way.

165 hz and G sync is just amazing. I won't be going back to 60hz!

Nice to hear this, been posting around a few threads on here asking for opinions. I'm contemplating this exact monitor. Currently on a Crossover Blacktune 1440p from Korea, but I'm fancying an upgrade. Could run both side by side then.

Does yours have any bleed at all? The only thing putting me off is the price :(

I really like the monitor I can definitely recommend it. I have barely any backlight bleed. I am very fortunate to have been sent a good one. The price is quite steep and I had buyers remorse before I received it but now I have it I'm certain I made the right decision. I paid £609 for mine from another shop.

I hope this helps make your mind up. :)

Yeah definitely does. Just went for an ASUS PG279Q. The Acer seemed to go up in price this week, it's around £700 everywhere now :( Picked up the ASUS from a well known online marketplace for £620, which seems alright as long as it has no BLB or dead pixels. We'll see eh.

I picked up the acer for £609 aswell. Coming from a 24" 1080 60hz is a big jump. Monitor is great with no dead pixels, has some backlight bleed buts that's to be expected on ips but I don't game in a dark room so it's not been an issue for me.
