finally got round to switching to O2, after being with pipex for a couple of years , and its a nice change.

for starters the contact numbers are freephone, and none of the usual 20-30 wait that i always have with pipex no matter what time of day i called.

text updates on each stage so far, see how it goes once i take delivery of the box and the connection starts.

just a thank you really to o2 for making it a pleasant experience so far :).

are we calling 02 and BE as the same company, if so,

im very pleased with BE..

ordered tue --- live on friday
lots of updates by email/txt
free connection with quidco
21.5mb speeds straight away
droped to 12mb now.....

couldnt be happier

I've been with Pipex for about six years. On Monday I intend to start the battle to escape. Their latest trick is a letter knocking 5Gb off my 15Gb monthly allowance for no readily apparent reason... though possibly because I rarely use it.

Either way, it's the final straw. I'm quite attached to my email address after all this time, but so are the spammers this week. I'm getting about 500 bounces a day. :-)

It'll be O2 who get my business, thanks at least in part to their free UK call centres... even though I do worry that their aggressive marketing will lead to tears at bedtime before too long. That has to be paid for somehow. Still, nothing can be worse than Pipex/Tiscali support over the last 12 months.

Famous last words. :-)

I too have just got 02, speeds excellent! Downloading at massive speeds.

Does anyone know what the 'fair usage policy' amount is, roughly?

My O2 was connected yesterday, I'm sure it was 17mb yesterday, I had to disconnect the modem to move it and now it says I'm connected at 8.2mb.

Is there anyway to improve it? How do I find the db on my line?

Sorry to thread jack.

noticed you got the info to find the db, as for the connection speed seen things about the line speed being dropped, needed a reboot of the router etc and the exchange picks it back up at the higher speed, there are a few threads about similar in the network forum iirc.

supposed to be live today no email or text yet :(.

bit of a let down no message to say the change over had been made :(.

checked my current router when i couldnt access the net and upload speed was 128 instead of 256, slapped the o2 router on and it appears that im connected now.

Unusual, maybe BT haven't informed O2 of the change yet or something.

nah checked with o2 as the speed im currently on is 64/128 until they decide my line speed :(, hopefully it will pick up over the 10 day bedding in period.
