Plex borked by Windows update?

Anyone else having problems with Plex?
It's point blank refusing to start, error 0xc000007b, even after a repair install.

The only *obvious* system modification was yesterday (the 13th), Windows update KB4497165 where Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 shows as being installed on 13/7/20.

I've tried installing older versions of MS Visual C++ with no joy.

Any suggestions or anyone else experiencing a similar issue?
 
That update installed for me on 27th May. Had no issues with Plex since then. I have also had 3 further updates since then.
 
Damn, I really, REALLY want to avoid uninstalling and re-installing Plex as it never keeps film titles and covers, despite following the instructions to the letter and keeping all metadata on a separate drive to the o/s.
 
I've uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times, I have even moved Plex from its original server to what is now its third home. All titles and covers have copied across without incident by ensuring I point the new install to the correct location.
