I have some TV episodes in Plex.
I labelled them Ep1, Ep2 etc etc.
When browsing them though, it shows them as Ep1, Ep10,Ep11, Ep2,Ep21 etc

Anyway to get it to list proper numeric?
I understand what it has done but it isn't what I want!

Only just started using Plex so perhaps just something I have missed?

For plex all episodes should be titled as

TVShow - SxxExx - Episode Title

So for say series 2 episode 5 of Supernatural the label would be

Supernatural - S02E05 - Title (Title is optional)

Plex will then apply the correct title and information to the library for that file.

Good app to use to bulk rename into the correct format is The Renamer.

The Plex server should scan the files and get the episode names. Have you set up the folder as TV Shows?

Also how are your shows stored on the drive? They should be like:

Show Name
- Season 1
-- Ep1
-- Ep2
- Season 2
-- Ep1
-- Ep2

Edit: Forgot I actually labelled my TV Shows as above. I used Filebot to do this, awesome tool. http://www.filebot.net/

plex does it all for me but i do make sure i download the same tv rip's AFG/FUM/Scream w/e it is if i always dl the same plex will definitely pick it up and put it in the right list.

There is a lot of documentation on the Plex site on the naming of files so that Plex picks them up.

Personally I name my TV series:
TV Show
- s01e01 name.mkv
- s01e02 name.mkv
- ...
- s02e01 name.mkv
- ...

You don't need to split into different folders for each season it is quite happy if they are all in one folder. Likewise you don't actually need to specify the episode title, or even in fact the name, as it will pull the metadata from TVDB and Plex matches the series on the name of the directory not the individual files within the directory.

Hopefully Plex do a lot of work on their replacement for the PHT fat client as it really does suck quite badly at the moment (a lot of pushing of the On Deck and discovery stuff and a lot of useful functionality removed or crippled)

Thanks for the comments all.
I'll have another look tonight at the suggestions and see which is the easiest option for me.

Tried The Renamer and it didn't seem to be able to find the episodes, so I tried filebot which mostly worked OK.
However, despite them named correctly now, Plex thinks they are something else!
They are episodes of NCIS, but Plex thinks they are Pokemon. lol

More work needed...

In Plex, open the media manager in a browser, select the misidentified show. Then on the left hand menu at the bottom, click the three dots and select the option which is something like correct misidentified item (or similar) and you should be able to correct the identification.

I get sickbeard to name my shows, which I have in the same format as someone else mentioned

Show
-Season
--Episode SxxExx

There's the occasional series which get identified all wrong because they were shown out of order on TV for example Firefly but there's a plugin which allows you to specify to identify them in the order they are on the DVD which works a treat.
