Plex + Remote = $$$$$$

I have a small server/htpc I keep in the living room in a little unit that's tucked away. I have plex installed and I would like to get a remote that will.

1) Not look like crap
2) Not be too complex
- Play/Pause/Navigate Buttons/ Fast Forward etc...
3) Not cost a ridiculous amount of money.

Is there such a remote that exists? I've been scouring Amazon for a simple remote, but the reviews always say you have to press the button multiple times to recognize it.

Appreciate any help.

I have a GMYLE Windows 7 Vista XP Media Center MCE PC Remote Control. It cost me about £16 back in late 2013, has been faultless when used with XBMC/Plex. Literally plug and play. Would recommend.

I'll have a look thank you.

Edit: I came across this a lot through my search, the only problem in my opinion is that I have this sleek small factor htpc and then that remote doesn't look good. I might just have to get over my opinion though.

Do you have an android phone if so Swift Remote works perfectly with plex.

No I only have an iPhone 5.

get a USB IR receiver and Logitech harmony (i have the harmony 650) works a dream with Plex

I used to use a Emprex 3009URF, which was great, nice remote to use, I liked the buttons, plus it's RF so line of sight isn't required to work like IR.

I now use a Pulse8 HDMI-CEC adaptor, which means I can control plex with my TV remote entirely. Means I only have my TV remote to control my TV, HTPC and AVR. Best solution I've found.

I'm sure it does but that's way too expensive just for a remote :(:(:(

Really nice solutions actually. Does that Adapter work with any TV remote?

Mines a Samsung PS51 or something.

It should work fine, I think Samsung call it Anylink or something, I know it's called Simplink on my LG anyway! Near enough any HDTV supports HDMI-CEC.

It connects via USB to the HTPC, and it just intercepts the CEC control signal from HDMI.

I love it though. When I select the input for my HTPC, the TV remote controls all the usual functions, up, down select, play, ff, rw, back etc. Volume control controls the volume on my amp too. It's perfect really. All within one remote.

I didn't get on with using the Plex app remote. Tough screen remotes just don't work for me. I know my TV remote by feel :p

Recently bought an Apple remote for my Pi2, works splendidly after configuring it in OpenElec.

The first Apple device I've bought :p

Does it? I can't see that on the appstore?

Might be android only. has playback controls in Notification bar + separate remote widget + remote in app menu. Looking around ios app should have remote too, can anyone confirm?
