Hello,
I bought an i3 dual core 1.7ghz, 4gb ram and 1tb Hybrid HDD NUC for my mum to have as a plex server. Running Windows 7.

She is using a Samsung TV in her bedroom which has the plex app on it. The NUC is in the lounge plugged via network cable into the Sky Hub and from the Sky Hub into a homeplug coming out in her bedroom which is then into the TV's ethernet.

I did a lot of research previously and this NUC should have no problems streaming or transcoding a single stream.

However...set it up today and a 720p TV show episode is buffering every couple of minutes, Direct Stream and Play buffer more.

I've tried lowering the transcoding quality but it seems to make no difference so I am thinking its network related. This is the first time i've used Plex so am not that familiar with how it works but its almost as if its connecting to the internet rather than using the local network. The only other thing is there is no Gigabit switch involved so the Sky hub is only outputting 10mb on the local network but still with a 720p show this should be more than enough.

Any ideas appreciated, cheers.

Look in the Plex app settings on the TV for the sound settings and try different settings

I have Plex installed to a W7 machine plugged into the TV and my desktop PC has the server and content, it would stutter badly until I found and used the correct audio setting on the app
