hey there

so I was going to go for the MSI GS60 2PC-005UK until I really thought about what I need a laptop for:

- writing code
- occasional video editing for you tube
- using photoshop and adobe premiere pro
- slightly gaming like 2-3hrs per month

I wanted the laptop to have:

- keyboard lighting
- anti glare
- be 15.6" with good screen
- lightweight around 2-2.5kgs
- have a min of 128 SSD
- be lightweight and portable
- a good processor.
- have a resolution of 1920 x 1080

my friend told me I am wasting my money on that MSI as its overkill

so please can you recommend a laptop for me as per the above?

thanks

thanks for your reply

how about http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...ktdetailseite&emcs2=LT-023-GI&emcs3=LT-173-MS

instead of the MSI GS60 2PC-005UK

Is there much difference between the 850 GTX and 860 GTX ? I noticed the 850 GTX is DDR5 wereas the 860 is DDR3..

How about the difference in CPUS?

The GE60 2PC is £299 cheaper however is there really much difference between it and the GS60 2PC-005UK??

Please help

Thanks

they are both GDDR5 and in terms of performance the 850m is a few % slower
Far cry 4 - ultra 1920x1080 Ultra Graphics Quality SMAA = 860m gets 23 FPS vs the 21 of the 850m. It's only a few fps difference in gaming. The processors are pretty much identical, so if you don't mind the little larger form factor than the GE60 2PC is a good choice however it doesn't have an ssd either.

thanks for your reply

would you also know what the difference is between these mobile cpus?

Intel Core i7 4710MQ and Intel Core i7 4700HQ and Intel Core i7 4710HQ cpu and Intel Core i7 4800

thanks in advance

There is some minor differences but nothing to write home about to be honest, The only reall difference is that the MQ cpu's are socket FCPGA946 and the HQ is FCBGA1364, but they are all mobile chips from what intel designates them as. Also the MQ chips lack Virtulisation d where the HQ has this feature. There is a small speed difference between the 4700HQ and 4710HQ. Its similar difference amongst higher numbered chips really just mostly speed differences respectively.
