on serious budget.

unfortunate i know, however she ran off with the better of the two PC!s when she left.being hunted down as we speak. anyway if i dont get it back then i need to bread some fresh legs into what i already have.

nothing to fancy just a new Mb and CPU would be great.

any suggestions please would be most appreciated.

What are you on man? Apart from the terrible spelling and non-existent use of grammar you've missed out what your budget actually is and what features you need the motherboard to have. Can it be PCI-E or do you need it to be AGP? How many SATA ports do you need?

ok sorry about grammar and spelling.
just need it to be able to run a faster than what i already have. no high end games, and not worried about oclocking thanks. i max out at 100% cpu usage when encoding dvd, and often get a lock up so assume that my cpu a little lacking.

need an agp port for my GC but my HDs are IDE so i suppose that rules me out of the SATA club.

is 100 quid going to get me anywhere?

Wait to come into stock or shop around. Only PCI-e / AGP board at OCUK atm me thinks

Unless you go for cheap pci-e graphics card and get the one for 45excl.

Slightly overbudget. I've heard some people had problems with this board but hey, it's a DFI. I'd think carefully though. Can't really go AM2 as you'd need ddr2 which would take you well over.
