Plug in hybrid - occasional motorway driving

I’m looking at getting a plug in hybrid Ford kuga.

it will be a family car and mainly used city driving with short trips however my partner has to commute 180 mile round trip once a week. What economy can I expect to see for this trip if setting off with a fully charged battery? Will it undo all of the economical driving around the city on electric?

@WorTortle so for example if you was going to do a 120 mile trip, how much fuel would you use and what would be the mpg? Once it flicks over to petrol is the fuel economy worse than 45mpg?

@throwaway4372 thanks for the reply! Looking at the cost to purchase, it’s 3-4K more than a petrol mode however the performance is 2.5litre engine size as opposed to 1.6 and the power is 230ps as opposed to 150ps
