Hi everyone,
Apologies in advance for such a basic question. I'm putting together my first build and am having a bit of trouble figuring out how to hook my graphics card (Gigabyte HD 7950 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-098-GI) into my PSU (Seasonic G-Series 550w http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-018-SS). One of the PCI-E cables plugs in to a 6 pin socket on the graphics card and an 8 pin socket on the PSU labelled PCI-E (so good so far). However, there is also an 8 pin socket on the graphics card which can only be connected to the molex adapter provided with the card (the other PCI-E cable (6+2 pins) does not fit). This plugs in to the power supply via a 6 pin connector labelled Peripheral - IDE/SATA on the PSU, is this correct? Terrified of hooking it up wrong and blowing any components. Hopefully I've explained this clearly. Any input would be hugely appreciated!
Cheers
