I have read lots and lots about plugging into the master socket, but no actual figures or numbers. How much am i likely to gain if anything. Are we talking more realiabilty or just quicker speeds. 100kbs or like 1 meg?

At the moment i have to run out a phone extension line (25meter) to my pc. Wireless is not an option (old style house)

If i plugged into the master socket yes i would get away from a 25meter telephone line extension cable, but then i would have to run out a 25m ethernet cable. So aint it as long as its short?

Also i never seem to be able to find "line stats" ive just got a Be* thompson router so im guessing it wont be able to-do that??

Thats obv my line stats

Gonna try now in the master socket and see what happens.

Im gonna take the pc downstairs as i dont have a 25Meter ethernet cable. So i will be using a 2 Meter ethernet cable. Would i lose a lot of speed between 2Meters and 25 meters?

Thanks

I think its the same, i doubt the sync will change just like that???

** edit 0.7 of a meg ** D/L
