Plumbing in a sink & washing machine

As part of our new house refurb I need to relocate a sink and washing machine from one wall to another.

What is the easiest way to route the pipes - should I be using copper or plastic (which I assume would be quicker)?

I noticed this evening that there are no radiators upstairs (how did I miss that?), looks like a fairly simple job to put more in using speedfit.

Haven't got a choice really as my gf is always cold.

In my defence the wallpaper is so awful in the upstairs bedrooms that I couldn't stand to stay in the rooms for very long (plus when we looked there was furniture everywhere).
