Looking at fitting a few radiators around the flat, i've seen some systems are now using the smaller 8 and 10 mm microbore tubing. I've used it before to make up some heat exchangers and it's great to work with, very easy to form and cut, but i've never used it for radiators.

Is there anything i should watch out for if i use 8 or 10mm pipework? (different pump, etc?) I'd love to use the microbore stuff if posible as it's MASSES cheaper than 15 tube (20m of 8mm is £18, 3m of 15mm is £7  )

Cheers

Dont, just dont.

Keep it 15mm if you can. Microbore IMHO is for lame, lazy plumbers (not calling you that, just saying in the use of plumbing).

In addition, it is REALLY not recommended for some systems that use a combi boiler as they cant handle the pressure and blow. As your in a flat, is it not possible that your system is a combi boiler!?

Not going to run a boiler, using a heat exchanger from an engine exhaust. System isn't going to be pressurised. (i think!, still planning!)

Ok, should be fine then, sorry, OP wasnt too clear. I would never use it in a proper installation though

Check out prices for plastic pipework in the microbore sizes, as they are reasonably priced getting these days and so easy to fit off the reel.
