Any way to force an IP profile reset?
Problem is 15mb loss in IP profile after experiencing a phone fault.
Problems started May 22nd having passed my local cabinet and noticing a plain white van parked with somebody working in the cabinet (contractor ?).
I arrive home to find my landline unuseable because of an extremely loud buzzing noise.
I then had several dates provided for a fix, none of which were fulfilled.
On the 4th June I arrive home and see a real live BT Open reach van parked at the cabinet.
Screeching to a stop I asked the engineer if he was fault finding, hoping that he was there to correct my problem. He said no
Anyway I get home and find the phone line working perfectly!
Whether the engineer was on my case or not, it seems he fixed whatever the previous guy caused.
As BT never informed PlusNet that the line problem was fixed I suspect he was not tasked with my specific fault.
Anyway getting to the issue, before the phone fault my line profile was always 60+ and I downloaded at around 58. With an estimate of 52 I was happy.
After 2 weeks of loud buzzing on the line the IP profile has dropped to 45.47 and BT speedtest downloads at exactly 45.
Now I am not happy.
All I want is the IP profile resetting.
I received an email today from support.
I have checked your line and the speeds are within (if slightly low - the estimate is 52meg) what we would expect for the line. Is it certain times of the day when the speeds drop, if it is then run the speedtest (http://speedtest.btwholesale.com) at this time and then update us. Please monitor the speed and let us know if you have any further issues.
I know speeds can drop at certain times of day etc I accept this.
I do not accept that a phone fault causing the IP profile to drop from 60 to 45 should result in me being stuck on a reduced profile after the loud buzzing problem has been cured.
So is there anything I can do with modem etc to force a reset of the IP profile?
If support keep telling me its within acceptable limits when I know it has been happy running much faster only 2 weeks ago I shall be a very unhappy Bunny.
