Hi,
So I ordered bethere 24mb internet, and cancelled my plusnet - 30 days before required as per T&C. But then I realise that I should get a MAC key so I can migrate to bethere so I dont suffer a service loss. So I then request a MAC key, get the key and bethere is mine in 10 days. Woo you think, but then I get an email from plusnet informing me of an iminent direct debit payment. I immediately e-mail and tell them that this is in error as I have cancelled the service.
They then inform me that no, actually the MAC key request caused the cancellation to be cancelled, BUT they had not informed me of this at the time, otherwise I would have waited to get bethere so I didn't pay for a service I wasn't going to use. I gave them 30 days notice that I was leaving them, yet they still have charged me for this month. I have asked for a telephone number as they are not responding to my support tickets, but this has never materialised. I have threatened with legal action, and it is a route that I will definately take tomorrow if they have not given me a phone number.
Are they allowed to do this? And in what position do I stand, given the fact they did not inform me that the MAC key request would cause me to pay another month, AND in the request for the MAC key I stipulated that I had already scheduled a cancellation of the service.
Thanks
Daven
