Plusnet - where do I stand

Plusnet provide me with internet service and a modem router.

However the modem router doesn't support vpn connectivity via Cisco VPN to my company.
Reading on the plusnet forums seem a fair amount of people have had the same issue when moving providers over to plusnet.

I've raised this with their helpdesk and although the support person was very professional and polite he mentioned I would need to purchase a new router modem.

Where do I stand as a consumer - obviously this wasn't mentioned to me when I signed up.

Appreciate your advice

Thanks

Did you specifically say that you wanted the connection to work with Cisco VPNs when you signed up to the service? It's not the job of Plusnet to list everything that their service doesn't do.

New router I'm afraid. Plusnet, along with many other ISP's, simply provide a basic 'router' that will enable anybody who signs up to them access to the Internet.

If a Cisco VPN is required to access your work network shouldn't work be providing you with the hardware to do so?

If you're using AnyConnect then it shouldn't matter what router you have. Are you using that, or an old IPsec client?
