Right, I need plywood for my bathroom floor, isue is a few tradesmen friends have told me there is loads of cheap chinese plywood being sold that delaminates quickly, I have experience of this with a piece of exterior grade ply that has delaminated within a year. I obviously want to avoid this, anyone know of suppliers of 'quality' ply?, or indeed how to avoid this issue?

Quality of plywood in B&Q lately has been terrible lately, used some of Wickes Structural Plywood 18mm the other week, didn't seem too bad.

Everywhere seems to be selling chinky ply:( lately.

aye, its 12mm I`m lookin for to screw down on top of floarboards.....cant wait till my mad DIY quest/s are finished lol

I have found the ply at Magnet trade is pretty good, not sure if there is one near you?

The 22mm WBP mattyg suggested would be your best bet. all depends if you can get the old boards up easily enough. this will also keep the floor thickness to a minimum.

TBH unless your are part of the Royal Family how big is your bathroom? can't be more than a couple of sheets if your not going under the bath, just buy good marine grade ply from a builders merchants, whilst I agree it's worth chasing down the costs, for such a small amount and fairly high consequences if it all goes wrong I'd spend the extra.

Seal all the edges of the ply by rubbing clear silicone into them. Should stop it de-laminating, or at least prolong the life.

I`m warming to the idea for sure as with my new found extreme plumbing skills  I plan on doin the modifications myself and getting the whole floor up would help with that.

Yes its not huge, prob sheet full floor while I`m at it.I wasnt really looking to economise I just wanted to make sure the ply I use is decent quality and wont fail.
