Ive just overclocked my CPU but I think it's a little on the low side, Ive seen other members on this forum with a GTS scoring higher than me.

C2D @ 3.6
8800GTX @ 660/1000 (lastest beta drivers)
4GB OCZ @ 800mhz 4-4-4-12

My score in 3D Mark 06 is 12440.

I know this doesnt reflect in game performance but still its a bench test and it seems a little on the low side.
What do you think?

12440 is the correct score for your spec.

A GTS would only score higher if the rig has a Quad core processor as it would add a lot more points to their scores.

A GTS would score about 10,600-10,900 with your cpu i would guess.

Score is fine.

I get 12200 in 06 with the rig in my sig.

Had a GTS in before @ 625/2000 and a 6300 @ 3.15Ghz and I just broke 10K.

With the CPU at that and a GTS overclocked would be more like 11400+.

With my CPU at 3.2Ghz and my GTS at 650/2.2 I got around 11442.

O.k thankx guys, still playing with the idea of getting a Q6600 and overclocking.

What would you have to overclock (if any) a Q6600 to beat a [email protected] in terms of speed/performance in games

I would guess in games that dont support quad core, 3.6Ghz for the Q6600 aswell.

No point buying a quad just yet if you have an E6600.

To beat or match the e6600 @ 3.6ghz you would probably need to hit the same speed with the quad as most games on the market today wont take advantage of the four cores, crysis will use all available cores so you should see a nice boost over a cor2duo, even if your quad is clocked lower.

Ordered my Q6600 GO stepping on friday for £165 which is a bloody good price, see no point in waiting for penryn as by all accounts the performance difference ain't worth getting excited about, yeah they maybe clock better but my Q6600 at 3.5-6Ghz will do me.
