Hi peeps hoping someone can help me finetune/improve my OC.
A OcUk bundle but im sure we can drop the temps, atm just browsing core temps at 49-52c. Cooler is a noctua with 2 viper fans on it.Anyway onto how the OC is set up !

CPU clock ratio [20x]
frequency 3.82ghz[191x20]
intel turbo [enabled]
cores enabled [all]
multi threading [enabled]
enhanced halt (c1e) [enabled]
c3/c6/c7 [disabled]
EIST function [enabled]
bi directional PROCHOT [enabled]
QPI link speed [auto] [6.87ghz]
system memory multi [6.0]
profile ddr voltage 1.5v
profile QPI voltage 1.175v
ram timings 9,9,9,28 cmd 2
load line calibration [enabled]
cpu vcore [1.30v]
QPI/vtt voltage [auto]
IOH core [auto]
dram voltage [1.660v]

Hope this is all the relevent info needed!!
Thanks to anyone who helps/takes a look. :)

what is the latest/best bios i should have? Not much choice on the gigabye site but ive heard people talk of f10 etc but i cant find them :(

Don't upgrade the bios or OCUK won't officially support you on the new one, You will also want VTT tuned as well, on auto it could be running a lot higher than it needs to be, IOH can go onto the lowest setting

seems like anything i change sends it dicky!! :(
Looks like i need to start a complete fresh OC. Anyone willing to help walk me thru it?
I know it prob take some time to sort but i would like to get it running with mem at 1600mhz and decent temps.
A 8800 alpha dog with accelerro cooler and fans to the one who can help!!

Set vtt to 1.3 as well, for vcore keep dropping it down from 1.30 in steps and test windows, when it doesn't boot but it back up two notches and test for stability, can also try the same for vtt but thats not a bad place to start.

IOH won't need raising from its stock (guessing 1.1v for your board, is for mine) so set it manually to that.

What RAM do you specifically have? 9-9-9-28 for 1600mhz sounds a little high. Leave DRAM voltage at 1.66v though. Just noticed your memory multi is 6x so that means your RAM is running at 1140mhz at the moment, raise that to 8x for 1520mhz so only 80mhz off its rated speed.

Bout it really, run prime95 blend (for quick test, 1hr, full stability 8hr+) or linx (15 runs of max memory) and report back ;)

oh! thats what its set at from the bundled OC!
Just tried a 200x19
link x36,mem 8.0 with vcore and QPI/VTT at 1.3 but it fails at windows splash screen..
Be nice if i could get it set up with ram at full speed and get these temps down!!
Got the 2 vipers goin full whack atm and coretemps are hi 40's 50 :(

Well ive managed to get into windows by only changing the 28 to 24 in ram timings, taking down the vcore 1 notch and leaving all other settings as originally posted. ideas to improve?

Well with my case and cooling i feel temps are a bit high tbh.Core temp showing all around 45 atm but when i prime 95 they go to like 79-82.Would like to get these temps down and fine tune! Surely they will go hand in hand?
* with the ram timings being wrong on the OC profile maybe there are other things that need changing or can be improved?

82'c on an i7 920 isnt the end of the world.

what case are you using?

the best thing i can suggest is to leave it be

when your bundle was clocked i will have got the voltages as low as they would go.

the only other thing to suggest is perhaps trying a heatsink reseat maybe with some higher performance paste?

Aah! It could have been one of your bundles? Case is antec 902 with fan moved to top slot for windtunnel effect. Put 2 noctua fans as intakes and 2 akasa vipers on the noctua cooler.

Well i just reset the OC profile and tried a prime small test temps hit 83 in under 1 min.
This cant be right!!?!! I doubt i could leave it for an hour to test if its stable!!

hi all, sorry to jump in but i also have an overclocked bundle,i7 930 clocked to 4ghz on a ud3r.my temps are i bit high too so would like to fine tune.my bundle was sent with vcore set at 1.3,i have got it down to 1.23 and have seen mention of setting the qpi/vtt voltage manually.i have tried to do this but windows wont start on anything other than auto.i have set the vcore back to 1.3 and tried setting it manually but it wont have it.any ideas guys?

vec, the auto setting will be much higher than what the motherboard is telling you it is at, you will have to bump it up a lot, ie above the 1.35V maximum Intel states (or was this changed? I know they put up one of the max voltages...).
