.png files as dock icons?

Hi,
I have downloaded a icon set but they are all .png files and i cant copy and paste it over like how i normally do it. Can anyone tell me how i can use these png files as dock icons?? thanks.
I just want to replace the icons for apps like iphoto, ical etc.
