Anyone know how I can upgrade my old pocket pc 2002 ipaq to run pocket pc 2003. I want to do this so I can tun tomtom navigator on an old ipaq so I can use it as a dedicated car satnav unit.

Cheers

ps like to do it for free if possible!:D

You didn't say what your "old ipaq" was exactly. Some of them had upgrades, others didn't.

tomtom 5 will run on older 2002 ipaq and i think map from tt6 just copy over and allow it to be used ,, now tomtom5 was good not many great point added to 6 .. i think thye removed the point of turning the screen to widescreen but may have that round wrong way

also ive heard remember as you upgrade ipaq in winxp it shuts the usb of then bingo its faffed the upgrade and often the ipaq upgrade and you have a small dead brick. we allways used laptop with win98 on it to do such updates now hp/windows may now do it more sensibly but bare it in mind BEFORE you do update.

Thanks for that, will look around to see if I can buy tomtom 5 without costing too much, would rather upgrade to pocket pc2003 and use the tomtom 6 I already have but if thats not an option then I'll try anything, even free gps software/navigator if you know of any!

well i think if you have autoroute you can use that for gps but it loads to ms streets and pockets (something like that its called) but its not a turn left at next stop kinda thing but free inside autoroute.

incidently if you deleted some of the voices from the voices file of tt5 (or 6 for that matter) you can fit tt5 on a 128 meg card. with out map tt5 is about 32meg

email me i may have idea for you..............
