Podcasting - where to begin?

Right i'm wanting to get some sort of podcast sorted out for my site but have no idea where to start.

Basically we've got a lot of mixes submitted as mp3, whats the easiest way to add them to a podcast feed? How do you add new ones? Just upload to the server as a certain type of file?

Have hosting etc setup so would prefer to get something like www.mydomain.com/podcast rather than using Blogspot and the likes.

Any help appreciated!
 
submitting it to iTunes is probably a good start - then look at different podcast directories to submit them to. Also, create a feed for it so people can syndicate it if they wish
 
Had a quick read around on the net and didn't realise it was so simple. Basically just upload the mp3, create a blog post with a download link and then publish.

I have an existing Wordpress installation, is there a way to create a seperate RSS feed just for the podcasts? If not I might just go with the Blogspot & Feedburner option as it seems fairly straightforward.
 
I think wordpress probably has an option where you can create a feed for specific categories - just create a category called podcast and have an rss feed for it. not too sure about blogspot, though sorry
