Not sure if there is a thread anywhere relating to them? If so close/delete this thread please mods.

Do any of you regularly listen to anyone specific?

I started to listen to the Gary Neville podcast this year and have been fascinated by some episodes of The Joe Rogan Experience. Can't knock abit of Bob Ross the joy of painting either!

Rogan
Gary Neville's Overlap
Brendan Shaub Show
Under the Cosh
Athletico Mince - although that seems to have died off now.
Hospital Records
Not really a podcast but subscribe to The Jaguar Skills show on Patreon. Regularly listen to Britpop Revival show too

Would like to try more but just don't think I could fit them in - I struggle with that lot although don't often get to the end of a Rogan show. Depends how much work travel I do in the week.

Yeah same. Lack of a commute 5 days a week has made it difficult to keep on top of mine. I only regularly listen to Kermode and Mayo now, the rest I have to pick and choose.
  • Kermode and Mayo
  • Distraction Pieces (Scroobius Pip)
  • Richard Herring RHLSTP
  • Team Deakins / Roger Deakins
  • Hip Hip Saved My Life (Romesh Ranganathan)
  • Adam Buxton
  • The Treatment
I also have subscribed (but never listen)
  • The Rough Cut
  • Your Place or Mine w/ Shaun Keaveny (actually listened to a couple, it's decent)
  • Wolf and Owl
  • Dan Snow's History Hit
  • WeAreNetflix
  • Grounded w/ Louis Theroux
  • Off Menu

Wolf & Owl has me literally laughing out loud when I listen to it walking the dog.

Tom Davis story about Potpourri at his girlfriends parents house is one of the funniest things I've ever heard.

I'll have to give it a whirl. Tom Davies is absolutely hilarious to be fair. Love him whatever he's on. It's just a time thing! Can't listen to them when I'm working, much more a music guy for that.

I'll throw a few more into the ring;

Smith and Sniff and The Intercooler for automotive ones. On that side of things, Smith and Sniff is essential monday morning listing for me.

Collecting Cars Podcast - Very irregular, but some great interviews in there and in the back catalogue. Interviews with the Evo crew, Nicky Grist, Jost Capito jump to mind but lots of others in there worth a listen

F1 - Beyond the Grid - Some great interviews on there

a repeat of the Adam Buxton podcast - very enjoyable. Have listened since Adam and Joe and have always enjoyed his Pods.

Off Menu - Go through phases with this one, but for the most part enjoyable but can sometimes get samey.

Elis James and John Robins - understand there humor isn't for all. Again, listened since Radio x days and get most of the in jokes / ongoing stories. I think if you pick it up fresh you might struggle with some of it without it relating to something historical

Moon Under Water - Enjoy this one too, but again know the humor/language can be a bit divisive so not everyones cup of tea

Pick up a few others ad hoc but those are the core ones

The Rewatchables - old movie chat with deep dive - if you grew up in the 80/90's you'll probably enjoy it.

Stop Podcasting Yourself - two local Vancouver comedians and rotating guest. Irreverent chat - v funny. Recommended by Adam Buxton. I started listening in 2017, and it took me 19 months to catch up starting from ep one since they've been going since 2008! - early eps are less defined structure wise but still loads of funny moments. Even saw a live ep in Montreal in 2019!

The Blindboy Podcast - Irish artist Blindboy originally started it to promote his book at the time. However, it grew into something bigger as a platform for his monologues and interesting rabbit holes. Not quite an Irish Adam Curtis but some thought-provoking threads on certain topics and lots of good mental health chat as well. I'd probably skip the stories in the first few eps (they're at the end) as they can be very different in tone to the monologues.

THL podcast. - Another Irish one - just three Irish people, Tommy Tiernan will be known to non-Irish people, but the other two would be only famous nationally I would have thought. Either way it's short (45m) and just three Irish folk taking the p***. Very funny.

^Those are my go to's

My dip in and out that aren't mentioned in the above replies:
WTF with Marc Maron
The Alexei Sayle podcast
The Comedians comedian - Stuart Goldsmith
Films To Be Buried With - Brett Goldstein
Here's The Thing - Alec Baldwin

'How Hip Hop Saved my Life' with Romesh Ranganathan and RuMaj and a guest. Basically about the guests journey through hip-hop through the ages. Some decent guests but there hasn't been an episode since last August.

'The Undefeated Podcast'. A boxing podcasts with 2 comedians discussing the weekly going-ons within boxing. The also do a YouTube channel with the episodes as well as 'Monday Night Smoke' where people call in and give their opinions.

Going to start Wolf and Owl based on this thread. :)

Two limited series I listened to that were brilliant, if a little old, were The Dropout (which is now a pretty decent tv show) and Jon Ronsons Butterfly Effect, all about how Pornhub was started essentially by so much copyright theft nobody could keep up (or particularly cared) and the effect so much free "Gentleman's art" has had on the lives of a range of people. Its very, very good.

The Common Descent podcast. Vertebrate paleontology hosted by two intelligent, funny and super nerdy guys. Absolutely laden with science info and a very healthy dose of movie and D&D nods.

I like two horror/dramatic ones. First one is finished and is called The Magnus Archives. Start out as single stories in each episodes but the stories become connected and it's a great listen. Other one is called Old Gods of Appalachia. Similar horror style but more Cthulhu-esque and set in the Appalachia region.

Saw a couple of clips of JRE with Zachary Levi and will watch/listen to the whole episode when i get a chance. WOW i didnt know he had been through some REALLY dark periods after he finished Chuck TV show and even said he had come really close to ending it all on several occasions. :( It was really sad to hear from a guy i watched in a TV show that i really love. It sounds like he has really turned himself around and is doing well now.
