Hi

I have got some POE Injectors and i am running them with a Tenda W301A on a netgear router, The Tenda W301A power adapter fits fine in to the end of the poe but the end that goes in to the access point didnt. i went to maplins and got a new end and soldered it on and it now fits fine.

for some reason i cant get power to the Access point at all. Voltage is going to the end with a multimeter but the access point just wont power. Could i be doing something wrong. are the injector kits rubbish?

Thanks for any help in advanced.

I think you need to provide more details about what you've done.

As that AP claims to support PoE you just need an injector at the local end. At the AP end the power is provided directly via the Ethernet cable. There should be no reason to be splitting it out and plugging into the AP's DC socket.

You can use injector/splitter pairs to provide PoE, but that's usually for kit that doesn't support PoE in the first place.

The DC adapter provided with the access point runs at 12V, too low a voltage to go any distance over Ethernet.

Having had a look at their awful website I'd guess that you're supposed to use their POE1300S PoE adapter, but it's difficult to be sure.
