PogoBrowser.com

Well unfortunately I don't think this is a browser you'll be using in work unless you've got a pretty beefy machine.

With a fair number of apps open (nothing more than usual)
VB programs (4), SQL Server Management Studio, PC Anywhere, Dreamweaver, Notepad (3), Word, Internet Explorer and Firefox

It grinds my work machine to a halt :(

2.8GHz Pentium 4 D
1GB Ram
ATI x3000 SE

It's (literally) Fx 2.0.0.14 with an extension.

There's a TechCrunch review here, for anyone that cares.

I was watching the demo thinking how soon before FF gets an extension that uses PicLens 3D effects to create a similar experience..........seems AT&T have done just that ;)

Yeah, using PogoBrowser you can definitely see that it's FF but quite heavily modified.

It "magically" already has all your FF bookmarks for a start, the Tools/Options menus are identical but with "Firefox" replaced with "PogoBrowser".

I can see it being quite good, but with no x64 support yet it means the only place I could try it is in work but it's too resource hungry to be useful :-/

I'm more surprised they didn't choose to build on the SQLite infrastructure in Places, as well as the SVG stuff in 3.0 (which is improving significantly towards 3.1).

Changing the app name isn't the hardest thing in the world - it's just a case of editing a single string when you compile.

You can still run x86 apps on an x64 machine
I guess the lack of x64 support's a product of Fx not officially doing x64.

It looks like total unnecessary bling which most people will never use. A bookmarks sidebar down the side of my page is enough, rather than having to crawl through a 3D world of my bookmarks.
