Hi All,

Whilst I don't often play games, I do delve into the past and bring back my teenage years with some of the games I used to play - which were mainly point and click adventure games. FPS hold my attention for a bit, but I like a good story.

So games of the genre of the Lucasarts series (Monkey Island, Indiana Jones etc...) as well as some of the Sierra series (Space quest, police quest etc...), and more recently the Broken Sword series. I love these games and you can play them, save it, and come back to it, like a good book. :)

However, I'm completely out of the loop since those days of adventure gaming - there appears to be very little choice now for these sort of games. Sure things like Portals were more "puzzle" like, and whilst I enjoyed it, I still would much rather a good detective / interactive story rather than that more FPS style.

My question to you is - what games exist either now or over the last few years that are worthy of me looking into? I played A New Beginning recently, it was ok but cannot seem to find anything similar. I don't need to delve into nostalgia as I have all the "old school" adventure games from Beneath a Steel Sky, to Broken Sword 3.

So do you chaps have any suggestions for this genre?

Thanks! :)

Wadget eye games and walking dead. Check.

I've got all the MI games - but thanks, I'll look at Jurassic Park too.

That may keep me busy for a while - as I don't have a huge amount of time to play them.

Grey matter if you liked gabriel knight - written by jane jensen

Telltale games did new sam and max episodic adventure games as well as a new monkey island. just google telltale games

Secret files series on steam

resonance on www.gog.com is pretty good and looks real old school.

Whispered World was quite good also on gog.com

There's also Ghost pirates of voodu island written by a few people who worked on monkey island and book of unwritten tales.

Also there's another episodic game called Cognition currently on episode 1, which looks interesting

Depending on your story tastes as an adult you should find something to enjoy. there's actually a lot of new adventure games being bought out by indi developers.

Loved the gabriel knight games so will look at that. :)

Yeah all the classics like Sam and Max and Full throttle (I actually really like the Dig - wish they had made that into a movie!).

Lots to look at! Hmm... at this rate I'll be kept very busy!

Yes I had a look at the secret files a while back, Lost Horizon stemmed from that didn't it?

Didn't realise point and click adventure games were still so popular! They hardly get talked about! I knew I could rely on your guys for help! :D
