point and click strategy games like desperados, commandoes etc

Are there any more decent point and click strategy games out there, they all seemed to have gone for the 3d FPS route..

I don't understand why titles would change genres completely..

Other than obvious stuff like C&C/SupCom I can't think of anything. It might be worth looking at indie games, assuming you're after something newer aged than stuff like Commandos. Can't think of any strategy ones of the top of my head (indie or non-indie), but there's Torchlight which is a non-indie P&C action game and something like Time Gentlemen, Please! which is an indie P&C adventure game... probably not what you're after but thought I'd mention anyway.

only game that comes to mind is Robin Hood : the legend of sherwood

the only other games i can think of are more in the vain of HoMM.

Not much help but I have to say, Desperados is AMAZING.

Is hard at times but a must buy if you liked the previous 2.

Is little known of as well which is a shame.

Try Jagged Alliance 2

awesome game, quite similar to the ones you mentioned, amazing mods for it too.

Other than that, Men of War is occasionally commandoish on certain missions.
