Point of View files for bankruptcy...

Ah I remembered that brand, my mate had Point of View Geforce 6800 GT because it was very cheap at the time.

OCUK used to stocked Point of View graphic cards years ago, I don't know why OCUK stopped stocked it anymore years ago.

I was surprised to find Leadtek is still around, I had Leadtek Geforce 5950 Ultra long time ago and none of UK retailers stocked Leadtek Geforce 10 series cards.

Pascal pricing certainly didn't help, another one bites the dust.:(

I had a look at POV website, they did not had Pascal GPUs but Maxwell as current and last GPUs.

I think I know why POV filed for bankruptcy, I noticed they sell other products than graphic cards since 2013 like POV branded quadcopter drones, Smart LED bulbs, Windows & Android tablets, phablets, Android Smart TV sticks, PC compute sticks, Headphones, Tablet Accessories, gaming & air mouses, bluetooth dongles, mousepads, smartwatches and selfie sticks!!!! :o

POV selling POV branded selfie stick for ridiculously €10, that would translated into £10.17 inc VAT!!! :o Just wow just wow I can find same non branded selfie stick for 10 times less at £1.

It very sad to see stupid POV executives destroyed business themselves by threw so much money made from graphics cards to pay royalty fees to other companies to used POV brand on worthless products and packagings and sell at higher prices that nobody would be stupid to buy with POV brand on it.

Had POV executives not invested in worthless products then POV would still be much alive today and had plenty of money to invested in Pascal. :(

Found interesting details about Point of View business:

http://ie.kompass.com/c/point-of-view-bv/nl226077/#presentation

Founded in 1994, employed between 20 to 49 people and had turnover of €25 to €50 millions in 2014.

This showed POV made millions from graphics cards, they absolutely certainly had lots of money and had enough funds to purchase Pascal reference cards from Nvidia.

It will interesting to find out how POV lost all that revenues in 2016. Possible bad investments on other products or maybe fraud by a POV employee to steal millions from business account?

Thats how Abit went under. I have a friend who was working there at the time :/

There was never anything in the press about it, but the guy (company owner I think) ended up in prison in Thailand for it.

The employees pretty much cleaned the warehouses out by the truck load once they got wind of what was going on.

If they sold Pascal cards they would have likely enjoyed a part of the record breaking sales and revenue the Pascal series is ahciveing, Just like Maxwell was breakign records before that. AthlonXP1800 is most liekly right, diversifing into areas that simply lost revenue killed them.

What I find most surprising about all this is people in this thread openly admit to buying FX5xxx series cards  ........................... seriously guys do you have no shame :p

The FX5800 was dire, the FX5950 which is what the FX5800 should have been was perfectly fine but late
