Pointing Applications to use different network connections

Is it possible to configure an application to use a specific network connection?

To give an example; I've 2 connections 1 LAN and 1 Dialup. Is it possible to get say, Firefox to only use the dialup connection, and the LAN for everything else. Or vice versa?
