Pointless M&S Credit Card Rant

So whats the point of a Credit Card? When every other item you order on it gets declined?

And when you phone them to ask, why, when you have a high credit limit, does a small amount £131 get declined.

It's pathetic.
I can understand it, if it is a foreign transaction etc, but for legit UK companies!!!

Now I phone them, who are in India, I add, who say they can do nothing til the morning til the right department comes in.

Sooooo Im stuck without what I need a CC for... Great stuff hey! Well done M&S!

I used to work for Sainsburys Bank, over the last 5 years all I've had was their cards.

Admiteddly I had a problem when ordering from the USA, it got declined, however, I phoned that NIGHT (1am!) and they were there to help! The department explained why, and then allowed the transaction! Proper service!

Unfortunately, I got declined for one of their cards recently, I have no idea why, I will phone them tommorow.

No matter what they say, I will cancel it tommorow, as as far as im concerned, it should be 24hrs a day for problems with CC, what if I was stranded needing petrol and it had been rejected...Pathetic!

I know what you mean mate, i'll prob go for a Halifax One, as Im about to open a 2nd current account with them.
