Points - How many and what for?

No points here yet in about six months of driving.

Just to confirm, do they take your licence away if you manage to get 6 points in the first 2 years of passing your test?

Yeah, you need to start from scratch, i.e., take both your theory and practical tests again. *shudders*

No points in 2 and a half years, 1 parking fine though. I was really annoyed about that because the windscreen pillar blocked my vision of the time limit notice sign so even though i checked i had no clue i couldnt park there. Why are the traffic wardens always old, sour faced nazis around here.

But yup somehow no points :)

16 years of Driving so far and 9 points all in total

6 points = SP30 (while driving a 7.5 Tonne Truck for work)

3 Points = CU20 + £200 fine (unsecure load, putting 2 ppl in hospital) :(

Clean for the past 5 years

5 points, SP30, 96 in a 70, £125 fine (IIRC) - that was 8 years ago now. (traffic cop on a bike with a radar gun)

That's all in 16 years, I think I've been very lucky considering :)

3 Points, £60, and a bucketload of "OMG i'm going to drive slower" syndrome.

07th May 2006. Got caught doing 76~ in a 60 by a nicely positioned camera van. Happened to be overtaking a caravan at the time, whilst chasing a certain Focus RS ;)

Damn and blast you two beat me by one year, so not fair, :D

They beat me by a month if i cheat a bit

ie no points in last 22yrs 11mts, but that is since i got my license back after being a stupid git and getting a d&d

SP50 (exceeding the speed limit on the motorway) 3 points January 2005.

I got this on the M4, a camera van caught me at 60 in a 50, approaching some roadworks.

dont want to tempt fate but none in nearly years, which Is nothing short of a miricle on the bike. Think I saw a flast on sunday at a well known speed camera, hoping it was just the sun as I was only doing and indicated 37mph and I thaught it was a 40mph limit. My dad was in front of me doing the same so might have just been sun reflecting off it in my mirror (I hope). So might be an SP30 on the way.

11 in total, 6 currently although 3 of those no longer count for totting up purposes.

5 pts (undue care and attention) this was from when I crashed my Metro on the M6. I got distracted by some kids mucking about on one of the overhead bridges and whilst making sure they weren't about to put a brick through my windscreen all the traffic in front of me stopped and I got intimate with an Audi.

3pts (speeding) Passed an unmarked patrol car on a dual carriageway. Didn't even realise he was there until I came off the roundabout at the end of the DC. In my rear view mirror I noticed someone pull out to overtake the car behind me. I'd just finished thinking "What's this idiot playing at" when he pulled in behind me and all the lights came on :p

3pts (speeding) This was a really stupid one that I could have easily avoided. I was going through the roadworks at Ferrybridge on the M62 when they were building the new bit. I'd actually passed through all the roadworks themselves and there were 3 full lanes and just a line of cones at the side of the road and the 50 limit was still in force. Anyway, I was catching a marked estate car of some kind, I could see the yellow/red reflective stripes on the back of it but for some reason the colour combination threw me and it didn't occur to me that it was police. Once I'd passed him he pulled me and seemed almost apologetic but they were under orders to crack down on speeding down there.

One SP30 in 17 years (sustained about 10 yrs ago now).

Been stopped for speeding maybe 8 or 9 times. 3 of those were over 100mph, one was close to 130mph and another for racing an unmarked copper off the lights.

:D

None in 16 years.

Only ever been stopped by the police twice. Once for doing 34 in a 30 at 2am and once for riding a bike on L plates which 'looked larger than a 125'. :p

In 9 years driving, 3 points in the old leon cupra;

55 in a 40 A4, heading towards the M4 from Reading. A conceiled van. (June 2003)
