Points - How many and what for?

9 years driving, 6 points (within the last 18 months )

SP50 - 94.7mph down the A14 just past Bury St Edmonds (Cambridge Side) trying to get away from some woman who almost rammed me off the road. Pulled over by a T5 that just came onto the carriageway behind me. Didn't make any excuses, decent police officer, told me I was 0.3mph from getting a summons so I accepted my punishment.

SP30 - 36 in a 30, coming out of the 30 into NSL, sat practically on the NSL sign was a mobile camera van on a corner behind another sign. Annoyed about that one.

In 11 years I have had 10 points, these were for 3 seperate SP30s.
I currently have 3 which I picked up in March.

Been driving for 14 years and never had a single point.

Now that I've got the Elise though I'll probably get a straight ban rather than points as I can't help but drive like an arse all the time and I'm bound to get caught doing something really silly soon.

6 points in 9 years 2x SP30

Feb 04 (working speed camera) and September 04 (copper with a speed gun)

Hands up both times. Although over the years covered hundreds of thousands of miles all over the country and get done twice 2 miles from my house....

15 years driving no points ever ;)

I must drive like a granny or something 'cos even my wife, mum and dad have got 3 each. I feel left out sometimes. How anyone can get caught by a gatso is beyone me. They are big and yellow and rear facing

HT

personally, i think its more about luck my uncle drives a a pratt and v fast everywhere but have never been caught. I, on the other hand, drive better that him and slower but having been caught speeding. Luck of the draw

about 8 or 9 sp30/sp50

ts10 ( i think ) for crossing double white line

several non endorsable fines

nothing for 15 yrs now

None for me in my 10 years driving.

Which is kind of odd as its very rare I'm not the fastest moving vehicle on any stretch of road.

I guess its down to how vigilantly I look out for speed traps. Plus the fact that if there is a speed limit for safety reasons (men working in road, 30 zones, pedestrian areas, schools, etc) I always go down to the limit.

Ditto to all that. Clean license for 10 years, and I swear it's down to how aware I am of whats going on around me.

Have only been pulled over for "speeding" once, and from what I can tell the copper was just bored. I was doing 35 in a 30 and he claimed he had me doing 45. I told him he was talking rubbish and he told me not to argue! He then ran some checks on my car and sent me on my way, without even a producer!

15 Years of Driving

3 points - SP30, 61 in a 50 in Dec 95 A34 (Large No of Cameras * frequent change of speed limits = revenue winner!)

Bearing in mind used to do about 35k miles per year and now do 25k per year it's quite remarkable!

Been driving 8 years. No points but i did get towed a year ago for parking in a disabled space at 9:30pm at night with three empty disabled spaces around me. Cost me £135 :(. I was back to the car by 11:15pm.

3 points + £60 fine for an SP30 - 45 in a 30 @ 3pm outside a college, i was lucky to get away with just that tbh.

Only lapse in concentration i've had so far.
