Points mean prizes?

Just noticing the link mentioning free shipping for loyal forum members and also spending a lot of time trauling for bug fixes on support forums I came up with a possible suggestion as a combination of systems used on other sites and the loyalty bonus on OcUK.

Many Suport forums use a points system where OPs get to assign points to replies in their thread based upon how helpful a solution they provided i.e 25 for quite helpful, 50 for partial solution 100 for complete solution. Some forums that charge subscription offer discounts if you score more than x hundred points per month.

I had the notion that perhaps such a system might be implemented here along the lines of if you score 2000 points in a month you get a 5% discount on your next OcUK purchase or something. Perhaps a prize for yearly totals?
There are some very astute and knowledgable problem solvers on this forum and I personally think it'd be quite nice to reward their efforts with a small token?
