Anyone know if you have to have the points removed from your driving licence (paper counterpart) before you stop declaring them to insurance companies?

In this case the points are just over 5 years old. I'm guessing you don't but it seems to be something that is done in these parts so just thought I'd check in case there is a reason for doing so.

If they're 5 years old they no longer have to be declared, even if there still on your license.

Wouldnt life be so simple eh? Yes I would have done that if it wasnt for me being at work. This seemed the more simple option in that I can take 30 secs to write this and come back to it, rather than spend 10 mins listening to hold music

Can't 99% of questions asked on here be answered elsewhere?

On hold for ten minutes? What poop insurance company are you with?

I rang mine yesterday and was speaking to a person within 20 seconds.

Also, abit of common sense would tell you after 5 years they are not to be declared because they have expired regardless of what is written down.
