Sooo.

According to THIS link points are on the license for 4 years. This is anything from SP30 to CD10 for instance.

My question is, If they remain on the license for 4 years (on paper) how long do they have to be declared for as I was on the understanding it was 4 years on the license, 3 years to declare.

Is this correct?

They are valid for "totting up" for 3 years, i.e. after three years the points are effectively spent. However, they can only be removed after four years, and most insurance companies will want to know about points you have received in the previous 5 years.

Ah sound! In theory it should mean cheaper car insurance for me then come renewal.
